Day Seventy-Seven: Epilogue
End of the Journey and Beyond
I rode over 3000 miles from the East Coast to the West Coast in 76 days. I would crash for the next month or so on the floor at my friend Dave’s place until I could afford to rent a room. I would go to work at Executive Courier Network (ECN) working for the Blue Print Service (BPS) delivery division. I worked at BPS for about a month; then, I got a transfer to the Roadrunner Delivery division of ECN.
I spend the next 10 years in San Francisco. I work 8 of them as a bicycle messenger. I meet the woman who becomes my wife there. We have our first child there.
Here ends the tale of my cross-continental bicycle odyssey. $500 USD in debt working a shit job for subsistence wages. I loved it.
